Former FDNY Chief of Department Peter Hayden
joins First Responders Financial as Vice-Chairman

First Responders Financial LLC, a comprehensive financial and insurance services company serving the nation’s 13 million active and retired first responders, today announced that Peter Hayden, former Chief of Department of the New York City Fire Department, the highest-ranking uniform position in the FDNY, has joined the firm as Vice-Chairman.

Prior to his role as Chief of Department, Hayden was the Assistant Chief of Operations and commanded the World Trade Center North Tower rescue effort during 9/11. He later served as incident commander in charge of the Ground Zero rescue and recovery effort on behalf of the Fire Department for the following six months.

In his new position, Hayden will partner with First Responders Financial Chairman Dennis Smith, the former firefighter and bestselling author of “Report from Engine Co. 82” and “Report from Ground Zero.”

First Responders Financial provides a wide range of financial and insurance services exclusively for firefighters, law enforcement officers, nurses, and emergency medical technicians, their families and retired responders. First Responders Financial is currently developing a product line that includes home, auto and life insurance, home loans and a wide variety of investment accounts.
